GUG is embarking on a new venture for this year as part of a promotion towards a new image for this organisation.
To strengthen the voice of Gozitan youths and to create opportunities for such youths, GUG is organising ‘Gozo Week’ at the campus of the University of Malta from Monday, the 27th of February to Friday, the 2nd of March.
The events during the week will consist of stands and activities to promote Gozo and educate people about Gozo. GUG will host a number of talks and debates regarding current fundamental topics and about Gozitan students and youths. GUG said it “believes in youth’s driving force for the future of Gozo and aims to make them more aware of their role in society and urges authorities to embark on the same approach.”
In its perpetual cultural indulgence, GUG said it “strives to promote the Gozitan Culture and society to highest levels possible, thus the organisation has been able to include a new subject in the Degree Plus Field ‘Gozitan Studies.’ It is to be launched during ‘Gozo Week,’ when the first lecture will also be held. This will be the first official course on the subject of Gozo.”
Throughout this week GUG will also blend in different art fields to give exposure to the Gozitan talent with music and other art forms that will make up part of the weekly activities.
