1. An exhibition of sacred art by Manuel Farrugia was held at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Seminary in Victoria.

The exhibition, comprising 25 works, was opened by H.E. Mgr. Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo. Seminary rector Fr Daniel Xerri said the initiative to hold an art exhibition at the seminary was taken by the Ahwa Hbieb tas-Seminarju. Fr Xerri said, “It is in this same spirit of friendship and dialogue that the Seminary is opening its doors to those artists who would like to exhibit their works.”

2. The heavy downpour on Sunday April 8, disrupted a number of Easter processions with the statue of the Risen Christ. Two of the localities that managed to celebrate the event were Xewkija and Zebbug.

In Xewkija the procession was held inside the church with the participation of the Precursor Band and the Vox Clamantis choir.

In the evening, Zebbug parish held a normal procession with the statue of the Risen Christ with the participation of the Santa Marija Band under the directon of Mro. Joseph Grech.

Meanwhile, in the evening H.E. Mgr Mario Grech concelebrated Easter Mass at the Cathedral in Victoria with the participation of the Chorus Ecclesiae Cathedralis.

3. A reunion of ex-students (Group 1990-1995) of the Seminary School was organised. The activity started with a Mass (for the repose of two late members of the group, Reuben Gatt and Renzo Grima) at St.Francis church in Victoria celebrated by one of the group’s teachers, Fr.Joe Calleja. A dinner was later held at El-Dorado restaurant in Victoria.

4. Giovanna Debono, Minister for Gozo, presides over Freedom Day commemoration ceremony in Gozo. The Malta Police Corps Band performed during the programme held on Independence Square, Victoria.
