Bolton Youth Choir concert in Sannat on Tuesday

The JP2 Foundation, together with Alpine Travel, have the pleasure of announcing another musical event in Gozo, this time featuring the Bolton Youth Harmonies from the United Kingdom, as part of the Choir’s first overseas tour for twenty years.

The concert will be taking place tomorrow, Tuesday the 17th of July, 2012, between 7.00pm. and 10.00pm in Sannat, Gozo.

The Bolton Youth Harmonies is a group of around 40 young singers aged 13-20. As well as one large mixed choir, the young people also form two smaller choirs; the Bolton Youth Choir (girls only) and Lads A Capella (boys only). They rehearse together every Thursday night, and enjoy coming together to perform a range of music including folk songs and gospel music as well as more contemporary and popular pieces. During the Malta tour the choirs will be conducted by Carolyn Baxendale, Marc Hall and Simon Hunt, with piano accompaniment from Elaine Lowe.

In Gozo, the Bolton Youth Harmonies will be animating the 7.00pm mass in Sannat Church, followed by a one-hour open-air concert as part of the festivities commemorating the patron saint of the village, St. Margaret.
