Next weekend the Xlendi Administrative Committee will be organising the final’Il-Fjakkolata tax-Xlendi’ for this summer.
This very special event, which is being held as part of the Xlendi Summer Events for 2012, revives an almost forgotten tradition as the rugged coastline of Xlendi is illuminated with torchlight fires to commemorate the liturgical feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the Patron Saint of Xlendi.
The Committee said that everyone is invited to help and add their own torchlights or candles on balconies roofs & terraces.
The evenings of torchlight fires will take place between 9.30pm and 12.30am
