The Victory Day Commemoration, organised by the National and Regional Celebrations Committee within the Ministry for Gozo, took place on Sunday morning at Independence Square, Victoria.
The ceremony, which was presided over by the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono, was also attended by Chris Said, Minister for Justice, Dialogue and the Family and Frederick Azzopardi, Parliamentary Assistant within the Ministry for Gozo.
The Malta Police Band participated in the ceremony, there was a commemorative speech by Mr Franco Masini and a short re-enactment of the arrival of the George Cross Medal in Gozo, 70 years ago.
