The Labour Party spokesperson for the Environment, Sustainable Development and Climate Change, Leo Brincat, alleged in a statement today that the Gozo General Hospital had been caught moving and dumping hazardous waste without the required permits
In his statement Mr Brincat said that “the public should be informed of when this incident happened, when the authorities had become aware of it and if any steps are going to be taken against those who carried out the action without the necessary permits.”
He continued, by asking “who is going to shoulder the political responsibility for this abuse and whether Wasteserv had any role in it. Malta Environment and Planning Authority (MEPA) should look into this incident and establish what happened. Government and its entities should lead by example.”
