A Gozo specific promotion organised by the Malta Tourism Authority in conjunction with the Nuance Group (Malta), operators of the Duty Free Store at the Malta International Airport, recently came to a close with thousands of visitors participating in the promotion.
The promotion ‘Next Time Gozo,’ which was spread over three months, took place at the Duty Free Store in conjunction with the ‘Taste of Malta’ event organised annually by the Nuance Group.
The Duty Free Store and Spirit of Malta outlets had high visibility promotional material for this promo with large back lit posters, fully clad columns, tasting bars, shelf toppers and bottle neck tags promoting the Gozo campaign.
Almost half a million passengers were exposed to this campaign that ran for a duration of three months.
Visitors leaving the Islands participated in a lottery combined with the ‘Next Time Gozo’ promotion through a scratch card when purchasing over 10 Euros of local products from a wide choice available in store. This offered them the opportunity to register online and participate in the lottery.
The lucky winner was Mrs Zayda Capriles hailing from Hamburg in Germany who has won two return Air Malta flights and four nights accommodation in a luxury farmhouse by Baron Group in Gozo.
“The ‘Next Time Gozo’ promotion is now in its second edition and is part of a strategy which aims to specifically promote the beautiful Island of Gozo as a unique travel destination in its own right” commented Joe Galea, Director International Marketing of MTA.
He added “It was a pleasure for MTA to partner with a stakeholder like the Nuance Group (Malta) in this unique event to promote not only Gozo as a tourist destination, but also in giving exposure to a wide range of local produce like sweets, food and olive oil as an important part of the package being offered to world-wide travellers.”
