The Armed Forces of Malta has handed over eight preserved weapons to Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna (FWA) to be later displayed at the Foundation’s Museum of War in Vittoriosa. Major Melvyn Haber and Lt.Col. George Galea handed over the weapons to Mr Mario Farrugia during a handing-over ceremony held at Fort Mosta to mark the event.
The weapons; two Bren Guns LMG, two Lee Enfield SMLE Rifles Mark 4, two Sten Sub-Machine Guns MKV, and two Enfield No2 Revolver Mark 1, will be exhibited on the ‘tribute display’ of the KOMR (Kings Own Malta Regiment) and on the ‘evolution of armaments display’ of the War Museum.
Mr Farrugia said that “This donation of armaments is important as these weapons were used by KOMR after the war and they will complete the weapons display at the Museum.”
