Gozo’s ‘Students’ Voice’ in Fun Run from Victoria to Valletta

‘Students’ Voice’ of Sir M.A. Refalo Centre for Further Studies Fortunato Mizzi Street, Victoria, has said that it will be taking part in the President’s Charity Fun Run organised by the Malta Community Chest Fund (MCCF).

However, ‘Students Voice’ said that will be doing this with a unique twist for our islands, as their journey will actually start earlier from Victoria, where they will go on foot to Mgarr Harbour, aiming to raise awareness about the Istrina initiative and “showing the love Gozitan students have for those in need.”

The event will start at 7.00am in front of the Sir M.A. Refalo Centre for Further Studies. All participants will be wearing special commemorative shirts made available to all participants by the MCCF and the main sponsor (Banif Bank Malta), as well as a whistle, which participants must bring themselves.

From there, they depart to walk to Mgarr Harbour, talking to people and explaining why a group of young men and women is running around the streets of our island at such an unorthodox time! Their aim is to raise awareness about the problems some members of our society have to face “and what we’ll be doing to help them improve their lives and get back on track,” the group said.

After boarding the ferry, they will travel by minibus to San Anton Gardens, where at 10.00am the President of Malta will kick off the Fun Run. Their journey will end in Valletta, at St. George’s Square.

All participants will be provided with water before they start they walk from Victoria. Consent forms are to be filled in by the parents of all those participating, together with a health form.

All those interested are urged to contact ‘Students’ Voice’ by Friday, the 23rd of November, 2012 at noon, at which time applications will be closed.
