Ryan Mercieca and Michael Tabone, both young Gozitans in their early twenties, have contested the election for the National Youth Council 2013/2014 which took place on the 15th December.
Twenty-four out of the twenty-nine Non-Governmental Youth Organisations eligible for voting participated in the election, with the Gozitans being elected by a majority of votes.
Ryan Mercieca was elected President of the National Youth Council and Michael as the officer responsible for Youth Organisations.
Both candidates have been involved in youth activism for some years, are still students and are thoroughly involved in the volunteering field both on the local as well as international sphere.
