Safe and secure finances lead to better quality of life – PN

Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi this morning attended a Question and Answer session on Radio 101 where he answered questions which ranged from the economy to energy to Gozo.

When asked why such importance is being given to the term “Finanzi fis-Sod” the Prime Minister replied that “without a stable economy Malta wouldn’t be able to go forward. He explained how without safe and secure finances we wouldn’t have one of the lowest rate of unemployment in Europe, we wouldn’t have been able to create 20,000 jobs, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy free healthcare or a new Oncology Centre, we wouldn’t even be able to offer stipends, scholarships and new schools.”

Dr Gonzi continued, “Finanzi fis-Sod is what leads to more social benefits and more schemes and incentives for small businesses and the self-employed. It’s what gave the PN the possibility to present such a good budget. A budget which was praised by all, but unfortunately, due to Labour’s lack of responsibility didn’t go through, and eventually even led to Malta’s downgrading by the credit rating agency.”

The Prime Minister was also asked about Labour’s energy proposals and had a chance to explain why these won’t work. He was also questioned about the Future of Gozo and the 3 recently launched proposals [1] by the Partit Nazzjonalista.
