The Gozo Music Festival is again the main music happening on Gozo this summer. Hitting the 7th edition, the GMF will this year host another impressive line-up of local and foreign acts including bands and DJs to cover a wide array of music genres, styles and generations, including 90s, live rock and House music.
During just one event, the GMF presents 2 main stages, 3 world famous artistes, 4 top local bands, 20 top DJs and an expected turnout of 6000 revelers.
The Festival is being held on Saturday the 23rd of August at the Gozitano Complex, on the main road from the Mgarr Harbour.
This year’s main foreign act is the World Music Award winner for Best Selling German band, Modern Talking, well known for their 90s and recent years’ hit singles You’re my heart, you’re my soul, Brother Louie, Sexy Sexy Lover, Win the Race and Ready for the Victory. The band has collected 500 gold and platinum awards worldwide.
The main foreign act in the DJ scene is the back2back DJ set by Junior Jack and Kid Crème, winner of 2 awards for Best Album and Best Artist of the Year in the 2004 House Music Awards and winner of the Best House DJ award at the 2005 DJ awards in Ibiza.
Local elements for the GMF 2008 line up include, amongst others, live acts by Ira Losco and Band, Tribali, and Cash and band, and DJs Alex Grech, Abel & Elinor, Simon Pisani, Captain Drew, Ruby, J Joy, Miss Roberta, Luc Admas, Carl Bee and Panzius.
Other attractions include latest sound and light technology, fireworks, food stands, bars, and a merchandise area. Two uplifted VIP areas are also catered for. The evening will be hosted by Angie Laus and Moira Delia on one stage, and Ronald on the other stage. The ZOO team will add another attraction to the festival. The GMF 2008 kicks off at 9pm. Ample parking space is provided.
