On Friday the Church celebrated the centenary of the International Eucharistic Congress.
The celebration, took place on in the evening and was held in St George’s Square, Valletta, led by Archbishop Paul Cremona, with the participation of Apostolic Nuncio Aldo Cavalli, the Auxiliary Bishop Charles J. Scicluna, Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Mercieca and the Maltese Bishop of Malindi, Kenya, Mgr Emmanuel Barbara.
Around 3,500 people attended the Mass including priests, lay people and around 340 children who had received their first Holy Communion during the last few days.
The celebration began with Mass which was followed with a procession with the Holy Sacrament to St John’s CoCathedral where the Benediction was given.
