Congratulations to the parish priest and congregation of Ta Pinu on their forthcoming celebrations. However, I always remember the Basilica of Ta Pinu as a quiet place for prayer and contemplation amidst the fields of Gharb and its surrounds. I am a member of the Scottish Episcopal Church, i.e., reformed Catholic tradition, and can say that there are a few ‘thin’ places in the world where one senses strongly the presence of the Holy Spirit. I name but two: a tiny, once cell remains from the Viking raids on the northern Isles of Shetland, Scotland. The other is Ta Pinu. Whenever we holiday on Gozo, Ta Pinu is first stop..
