Yesterday afternoon at around 4.45pm, the lifeguards of the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps of Gozo, assisted a Swedish man in his twenties during an incident in Comino.
The man found himself in difficulties after jumping off Cominotto. The ERRC lifeguards took all necessary precautions by immobilising the casualty and the transported him to Mgarr Harbour with the hydro ambulance, Lifesaver 1.
An ambulance from the Gozo General Hospital was waiting at Mgarr Harbour.
The lifeguarding service at the Blue Lagoon in Comino is possible due to financial support from the Malta Tourist Authority. Support is also being provided by the Ministry for Gozo, Transport Malta, Police, Armed Forces of Malta, Police and the Civil Protection Department.
