Last Saturday the Gaia Foundation and Sharklab organised another fun activity at Ramla Beach in Gozo, with an ‘Awareness Raising Day.’ This was the last of four events involving educational boat trips around the coast, games, clean-ups and other awareness raising activities.
There was the Sharklab shark exhibition, information on Gaia’s work with endemic and indigenous plants and the management of the eco-site and activities for kids. Everyone who attended had lots of fun as well as being able to learn something new.
There was also a chair available to enable disabled people to enter the water.
During the day, members of the team were able to check the beach area, they found that the different flora that inhabits the sand dunes are doing well, however, they did spot damage to some of the fencing, where it appeared to have been taken apart. Gaia said that this will be repaired. The team also found that one of the wooden signs had gone missing, which has now been replaced
