The Minister for Transport and Infrastructure was today presented with the official report of the commission of technical experts tasked with investigating the recent incidents involving fires on Arriva bendy-buses.
Minister Joe Mizzi discussed the finding of the report in a meeting this afternoon with representatives from Arriva and the Chairman of Transport Malta James Piscopo.
Arriva has been asked to give its response to the report within 48 hours. The Minister informed Arriva that the bendy-buses will remain suspended and he will wait for the outcome of the magisterial inquiry.
Details of the report have not been disclosed.
They were taken off the road last month following incidents after 3 bendy-buses burst into flames while in use on the roads.
