Readers Letter – “I read The Gozo News report: “American Knights of Malta to hold a pilgrimage [1] at Ta’ Pinu.” I am a papal Knight of a different, yet similar organization: the Equestrian Order of the Knights of The Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, plus in addition. I am also a member of The Brotherhood of Blessed Gerard, which is the relief-arm of the Order of Malta.
The pilgrimage to Our Lady of Ta’ Pinu in Gozo, was to have occurred this past Tuesday, 10 September, so I hope that everything went well and I salute my brother Knights and confreres on their dedication and devotion on this spiritual pilgrimage.
I also thank Bishop of Gozo Mgr Mario Grech for celebrating the Mass. The photograph of this historic landmark in The Gozo News was very impressive and indeed I hope I can see it in-person someday.
The Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta, is the oldest of the surviving papal Chivalric Orders.

Thank you for your letter. A Maltese delegation of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre was also present placed in front row on the right hand side, as invited by the main organisers Chev Christopher Hyland on behalf of American Association SMOM President Chev Jack E. Pohrer.
The Maltese Association members were also accompanying their American confreres and the Gozitan Corps of the Order of Malta Volunteers in Gozo, looked after logistics in Gozo apart from 35 sick and disabled brought from hospitals and homes.

In one of the photos ( American knights of Malta at Ta Pinu) I noticed a young lady in a sleeveless black dress with a very low cut front. Last time I went in there with my husband who was wearing a pair of black shorts down to his knees we were told that his shorts are not allowed, and we had to walk away disappointed. Maybe the lady in the photo was part of the church group.
