The Coordinating Team of the MCCF L-Istrina – Sports Mill-Qalb Campaign 2013 is asking all Sports Organisations/Clubs/Bodies who were unable to participate last year, but wish to express their ‘Solidarity through Sport’ for this year’s Campaign, to consider extending their cooperation and support for this year’s Campaign.
The Campaign is now in its fourth year and is steadily gaining the support of sports entities within our communities. Last year it attracted an encouraging number of participating Organisations and Clubs, which was double that of the previous year. “Thanks to the dedication and cooperation of the Administrators of these Organisations, the majority of those who took part last year have again confirmed their support for this year,” the organisers said.
“The strong feeling of solidarity with those in need, is very evident by the positive comments of all participating Sports Organisations who each year are making it possible for the MCCF Administrators to obtain the essential funds necessary to support the ever growing number of Institutions, Voluntary NGOs, families and individuals that unfortunately, will be experiencing severe financial hardships due to health problems in their lives.”
The organisers continued, “this support is most welcome as it provides another lifeline to the Malta Community Chest Fund to enable its Administrators reach out to the needs of those who through no fault of their own and most unfortunate circumstances, are not only unable to enjoy sport but are deprived to draw the benefits that such essential activities provide.”
“Sports Organisations/Bodies including Hotel Fitness Centres catering for any sport discipline that wish to be part of the Sports mill-Qalb Campaign 2013 are kindly encouraged to consider this opportunity of solidarity with those in need and eventually communicate as early as possible, their intentions to the MCCF L-Istrina SMQ Coordinating Team (Tel. 21451902 / 79053288) for football activities, and (Tel: 21454421 / 99891733) for all other sport disciplines,” the Coordinating Team said.
Further details regarding the required Office approval to raise funds for the Campaign will be duly clarified and provided.
The organisers “have requested, though it is not essential, that that fund raising sports activities are possibly held by the end of November, to enable organisers to present personally their respective donation to H.E. Dr George Abela, the President of Malta, at His official residence at San Anton Palace, Attard at the beginning of December.”
