In light of the recent statement [1] by the Church Commission regarding the viability of the Malta – Gozo road link, the Gozo University Group pointed out that the report, by Mott MacDonald, suggested that as an alternative to a fixed link, an improved ferry service should be implemented.
GUG added that it once again stresses that a “fast boat service is of utmost importance and should be implemented immediately. It will considerably reduce the traveling time in a manner that the permanent link could not.”
The University Group also hightlighted “that every aspect should be considered including the social and environmental ones. It urges that a holistic approach and a holistic plan for Gozo is the best way forward.”
