A fundraiser organised by local charity Inspire, was held recently at the Arkadia Commercial Centre in Victoria, Gozo.

David’s Bakery in Kercem, had prepared a large fruit cake, in the shape of a Christmas tree, which was put on display in the entrance to the Commercial Centre.

Inspire CEO Nathan Farrugia and Arkadia General Manager Antoine Portelli officially started the fund raiser by cutting the Christmas tree cake, which weighed in at 190Kg.

Shoppers at Arkadia had the opportunity to purchase a piece of the fruit cake against a nominal donation to Inspire.

Ann Camilleri, Manager for Inspire in Gozo, commented, “We are very grateful to the general public for participating in this festive event and their donations. We would also like to thank David’s Bakery for the delicious fruit cake and Arkadia for permitting us the space. We look forward to organise further activities of this type in the near future.”

The succesful event made a profit of €483.41 which was forwarded to Inspire to contribute to their financing.
