On Sunday afternoon judges from Malta Records declared that the Bethlehem f’Ghajnsielem Nativity Village, had achieved the National Record for the largest live crib.
Mata Records officials had measured the land area and the number of actors, which resulted in 20 acres of land and 201 actors, thereby winning the record.
The Award was presented to the organisers during a ceremony this afternoon.
This weekend, the third one since the Nativity Village opened, has seen many thousands of visitors flock to see the wondrous story brought to life of a family with a new baby, born in a stable in Bethlehem.
A survey conducted by the organisers showed that during the first week of its opening more than 20,000 thousand people including children, had visited the attraction.
The Nativity village will close with the Adoration of the Magi on Epiphany, next Sunday, the 5th of January 2013. The ‘Three Kings’ will depart from Tolfa in Italy and make their long journey to Gozo, before making the triumphal entrance to the nativity village late in the afternoon.
