The Gozo University Group Executive recently met with MEP candidate Cyrus Engerer, which started with an introduction of the Executive and a brief overview of the objectives of and activities organised by GUG.
In particular, GUG said it discussed the Youth in Action project and the need for more equal opportunities to be given to Gozitans students to be able to freely choose whether to live and work in Malta or Gozo.
“A discussion pervasive throughout the meeting was the need for Gozo to be given more assitance through EU funds,” the Group said.
“Another point raised was the possibility of a Gozo office in Brussels, which would benefit all Gozitans, especially the youth, in that they would have a direct link with Brussels organisations.”
GUG said that also discussed, was the need for a fast boat service, not only operating from Gozo to Malta, but also to other European regions.
The ultimate goal sought is that of Gozo being given equal opportunities in all fields, GUG concluded.
