The 44th issue of the Gozo Cathedral Calendar, this year commemorates a very important anniversary which took place one hundred and fifty years ago
On the 16th of September 1864, Pope Pius IX – through the Bull Singulari Amore – founded the diocese of Gozo and established the Matrice Church of Santa Marija as the Cathedral of the new diocese.
The 2014 calendar portrays twelve important ecclesiastic and lay persons without whom the foundation of the diocese would have never come about.
