Gozo establishments report ‘very good business’ for Valentine’s weekend

Gozitan establishments report 'very good business' for Valentine's weekendThe Gozo Tourism Association said that Gozitan tourism establishments reported “very good business” during the Travel to Gozo Weekend-Valentine Special.

The GTA said that accommodation in hotels, reported a full house booking situation, while the majority of the Gozitan restaurants, experienced brisk business all along this weekend. Other tourism services related businesses, also reported a good demand from the thousands of Maltese who took the opportunity to travel to Gozo on reduced ferry fares.

“This initiative by the Ministry for Gozo and Gozo Channel, in collaboration with the Gozo Tourism Association and the Gozo Business Chamber provided the island with a substantial increase in domestic guests who crossed over to Gozo to enjoy a break, during this relatively quiet period of the year,” the GTA said.

The Travel to Gozo Weekend-Valentine Special, was also supported by special offers coming from the various touristic and retail establishments, especially offers from the accommodation sector, the restaurants and the various retail outlets. “These provided the domestic tourists with added value to their visit to Gozo.”

The Gozo Tourism Association said that it would like to thank the Ministry for Gozo, for organising, co-ordinating and financing this initiative. The Association would also like to thank the Gozo Channel Co. Ltd, its Chairman, board of Directors and its employees, for their efforts towards this weekend. Finally the Gozo Tourism Association, would like to thank all those establishments who were giving special offers in their respective establishments during this weekend.

“Whilst thanking the Maltese guests who visited Gozo during this weekend, the Gozo Tourism Association augurs, that such initiative, will open up opportunities to extend the touristic season with the domestic market all through the winter months,” the GTA concluded.
