On the occasion of the Canonization of Saints John Paul II and John XXIII, the JP2 Foundation organized a Holy Mass close to the National Monument of Pope John Paul II which had been erected some years ago on the way to Ta’ Pinu.
The Mass was celebrated by Mgr Joseph Attard, Archpriest of the Cathedral. In his homily, Mgr Attard referred to some of the attributes of Saint John Paul II and related them to personal episodes which he himself had witnessed during his years as parish priest in one of the parishes of Rome.
The Fraternitas Choir from the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, Tac-Cawla, under the direction of Maryrose Attard, animated the occasion.
In the evening, people visited the monument to pray or light a candle of gratitude and devotion.
