Further to our report in March [1], the Minister for Gozo, Dr Anton Refalo, has finalised an agreement with the company RS2, which provides global services in the systems management of credit cards and other allied services, to commence operations with an initial investment of 1 million Euros and the creation of 100 new jobs in Gozo .
The Minister said that in the past there had been investment from other companies in the Xewkija Industrial Estate but this had stopped after just a few years of their operation, so now Gozo needed to attract and retain even more investment which would give a much needed boost to the Gozitan economy.
The Minister pointed out that students graduating in this field will now be able to work in the island and can look forward to building a career in Gozo, after all creating jobs for Gozitans was one of the main promises of this government .
The Minister concluded by saying that this is the first significant investment in Gozo over the past years and the Ministry for Gozo will continue to work hard to attract other investments which will have a positive impact on the rate of economic growth and employment in Gozo .
