Parliamentary Secretary for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Active Ageing, Dr. Justyne Caruana, paid a visit this morning to the Arka Foundation at Ghajnsielem in Gozo.
Dr Caruana commended the Arka Foundation for participating in the public consultation on the standards of housing for the disabled.
The Arka Foundation officials, Director Mgr. Manuel Curmi, and Managers Fr. Michael Galea and Mr. Joe Cremona expressed their interest in working with the Parliamentary Secretariat on the new standards which will take effect in the coming years.
Dr Caruana also discussed the challenges Gozo faces in the field of disability due to the of lack of services and facilities, adding that the Parliamentary Secretariat and the Foundation will be working hard together to improve the quality of life for the disabled in Gozo .
