The Institute for Sustainable Energy of the University of Malta is once again offering three different courses aimed at training installers and engineers in the fields of solar heating and solar photovoltaic (PV) system installations (single and three phase systems).
The lectures will also be broadcast live, via video conferencing, to the Gozo University Campus, for students working in Gozo (provided that a minimum threshold is reached).
The courses are tailor-made to provide the necessary information and training for installers to reach a high level of competence for installing solar systems in Malta. The courses on photovoltaics are being organised jointly with the Department of Industrial Power Conversion of the Faculty of Engineering.
The courses are accredited by the University of Malta and have been endorsed by the Malta Resources Authority. Students who obtain at least Grade B (70%) shall be certified to practise solar installations in their field for a period of 5 years. Their names will also be placed on the website of the Malta Resources Authority.
The sixth round of courses is scheduled to start on 2nd October 2014. Lectures are held twice a week between 15:00 and 17:00. Registration is open on 4th August 2014 and closes at 12:00 hours on 5th September 2014.
Accepted applicants must have the necessary pre-requisites and posts are filled on a first-come first-served basis, due to the limited number of places.
