With the aim of promoting creative writing, school students in Gozo are being invited to submit short stories, poems or essays on any subject in either Maltese or English.
There are three categories of entries:
Under 11 years
11 to 15 years
Over 15 years
The subject is completely open, as is the length of the work, but students are encouraged to write originally and creatively about the topic they choose. Students may choose to illustrate their entries. The work may be produced by one student or a small group entry.
DRAMA ENTRIES
Short plays written either in English or Maltese and performed by groups of students are required. Students will be invited to perform their plays at the book fair in October.
Under 11 years
11 to 15 years
Over 15 years
Teachers, parents and other adults may assist in directing these plays but the play content should be the original work of the group of students.
One student could be responsible for writing the play, or it could be a group effort. This may form part of a project during the Skola Sajf.
The closing date for all entries is the 7th of October 2014 although entries can be submitted from now until the closing date.
Entries can be hand written or typed. They can be emailed to gozolive2018@gmail.com [1] or posted to Gozo Live Writing Event, Casa Papillon, 21A Gnien Xibla Street, Xaghra, Gozo XRA 2400.
Each entry must have the name, contact details which should include mobile number and email address if possible, age of the entrant, as well as the school attended.
Where possible, it is preferred that entries be emailed. If posting an entry please do not register it. All entries will be acknowledged immediately. If no acknowledgement is received please contact the organisers on gozolive2018@gmail.com [2].
