For the eighteenth year, the Diocesan Curia in collaboration with the National Sanctuary of Our Lady ‘Ta’ Pinu”s administration is organising a vigil on the eve of the Solemnity of the Assumption of Our Lady, popularly known as ‘Santa Marija.’
This year’s vigil is going to take place on Thursday, the 14th of August, on the Parvis in front of the Marian Sanctuary, starting at 8.00pm with psalm singing and will continue wth the Vigil Mass led by H. L. Mgr Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo.
The Vigil will be special prayers for World Peace and for Persecuted Christians in regions such as Syria, Iraq and the Holy Land.
At 10.15pm following the Mass, there will be a Eucharistic Adoration at the Sanctuary. At midnight there will be another Mass.
The whole event will be transmitted live on Radio Maria 102.3FM/107.8FM.
Everyone is invited to attend this religious activity on the eve of the Assumption of Our Lady – a vigil which closes the fifteen traditional and devotional Wednesdays held at ta’ Pinu in spiritual preparation for the 15th of August’s great Solemnity.
Transport from Malta will be organised by volunteers from Radio Maria and will be available from all parishes. For more information, call 2145 3105. Transport can also be arranged from parishes in Gozo.
