I hope the buses start running till late at night for people who want to attend feasts but cannot drive and want to stay until the end of the feast.

Highly unlikely, this year the summer timetable was put up in June and on our route the only change was the addition of a later bus out of Victoria at 11.05pm. This bus has never run and last week I noticed that they have been out and blanked out the late bus!!! So it’s winter timetable all year for us.
At least we live on the bus route and knew it wasn’t running, not like the poor tourists who only found out when it was too late to get back to their accommodation.

Gozo must realize that they need buses that run throughout the night throughout Gozo for everone especially thoses who need to go to the hospital if there is an emergency. Not everyone has a car and buses that run through the night are necessary.

If I need to get to hospital in an emergency I certainly don’t wait for a bus, I call an ambulance and I can’t believe for one minute that they catch the bus to A&E in New York.
I don’t think there is the demand to justify night buses on many routes in Gozo although later buses on tourist routes in peak season might be useful for visitors.
As I understand it, you have not lived here in Gozo for 25 years so I can’t see how you know best what is needed!

Our nearest hospital where I live is about 25 miles away and there are bus services which specifically go there but this is only during the day for people with appointments. Who in their right mind in an emergency situation would be hanging around waiting for a bus?

James, your not supposed to be ‘hanging around and waiting for a bus ” People should know when the bus passes according to posted schedules and Ray the buses in New york run every 15 minutes and not only that but now you are informed how many stops it is away from your bus stop.

But if you break your leg you don’t just ‘hop’ on a bus to get to A&E you call an ambulance!

I’d like to also say for people who write comments on this site to respond without attacking the person who responds with his or her opinion. The way some people are verbally attacked, for all you know that person who is responding may have a heart condition.
