On Saturday, the Gozo Greyhounds Sports Club organised a small duathlon event in the Nadur Square as a part of the of European Move Week, which has been taking place between the 29th of September and the 5th of October.
Over the past week Gozo joined the rest of Europe in activities across the island that meet the standards and tastes of everyone, so that more people participate in some form of physical exercise and thus combat the problem of obesity, both in children and in adults.
Yesterday’s event organiser, Louis Debattista said that it’s “always fabulous to participate in getting kids outside/exercising, and raising community awareness.”
He added, “there are lots of opportunities for folks of all ages to get out there and move all over Gozo and Malta. Families need to encourage kids to do different sports and exercise, helping them live a healthy and active lifestyle.”
