The Ghaqda ‘Il-Milied fix-Xaghra’ (Christmas in Xaghra Society), is this year celebrating its 10th anniversary, and this coming Sunday, the 30th of November, it is organising a seminar about the tradition of the Nativity Scene, starting at 9.30am.
The seminar is going to be held at the Xaghra Youth Centre, 28th April 1688 Street, Xaghra near the main Square.
This year artist Paul Stellini will demonstrate how to construct the Christmas nativity scene using cork and expanded polystyrene on a miniature scale.
27 mechanical and static artistic cribs together with a Live Nativity Scene will all be on display this year in Xaghra, including two large baroque cribs crafted in Naples.
This event is being held in collaboration with the Friends of the Crib of Gozo-Malta, Ghajnsielem Section. The entrance to the seminar is free.
