The Gozo Greyhounds team members were in Marsa on Sunday for a cross country race in the Malta Amateur Athletic Association League.
Unfortunately, due to sickness and injury the team was 2 members short for the race. Team organiser, Louis Debattista said that the 5 youngsters are facing a challenge because they are normally in the top 3 finishers, however it is always hard work, as there are others right behind them pushing for the same position. “Well done to this Gozo young athletes,” Louis said.
He added that athletes in Gozo should work together, particularly adults, “our club – Gozo Greyhounds, needs mentors: strong adult athletes from Gozo for the youngsters to look up to. I am happy to give the adults a kit, and work on transportation when there is a race in Malta.”
