An Open Evening was held recently at the Bishop’s Conservatory Secondary School in Victoria, with the aim of giving prospective students and their parents an idea of what the learning environment is like at the school.
The evening event also served as an opportunity for year 6 students to meet the teaching staff, who were there to explain how they teach their subject in class, and to answer any queries from the parents.
Assisted by students from different forms, the teachers and LSAs recreated learning situations, which saw students actively engaged in completing various design projects, preparing food, promoting languages, carrying out science experiments and finding solutions to mind games in the maths class.
