The Gozo Youth Council has said how pleased it is at the number of youth candidates for the next Local Council Elections.
The involvement of youth in politics is essential to any thriving democracy, and the increase in youths getting involved at local level bodes well for the future, GYC said.
This comes when, for the first time,16 to 18-year olds, will be allowed to vote in the Local Council elections.
This initiative is something the Gozo Youth Council also has supported, it said, “since youth have much to give to civil and political life.”
The Gozo Youth Council wished luck to all youth candidates in the upcoming elections.
