Last weekend marked the start of iLead, the Gozo Youth Council’s leadership academy, with two successful international expert sessions held.
Experts Radu Seuche and Anca Urdea, trainers from Accelerated Performance, held the sessions over Saturday and Sunday, at the Gozo campus of the University of Malta.
The trainers focused on teaching the participants values that a good leader keeps close to heart and difficulties that they will encounter. A short session on public speaking enabled the participants to practice and improve their skills in front of each other.
The next session will be held on the 30th of May 2015, with a local expert to be announced.
The Gozo Youth Council said that its mission in developing iLead, is to provide a national forum for youths and youth organisations in Gozo, to effectively develop, promote and advocate youth initiatives and policy making in the youth field.
GYC added that it believes that a vision and plan for Gozo should be created beyond partisan politics and the young people participating in this academy will develop such a plan. “Gozo will only start to improve if and only if the major brain drain it suffers from starts to be directly tackled.”
iLead – The Creative Leader Academy is being organised by the Gozo Youth Council through the EEA Grants managed by SOS Malta and supported by Agenzija Zghazagh and Accelerated Performance.
