Discussions are currently underway between Projects Malta, the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association (MHRA) and the Ministry of Tourism, to explore a number of different solutions to the problem of overcrowding on public beaches.
Projects Malta said that the talks were started after a call for tenders was made in relation to a modular floating system in St. Thomas Bay Marsascala, together with a similar call that was closed last week for a beach in the area of Banju tas-Sorijiet area, Marsalforn Bay, Gozo.
There was one submission for the project in Marsascala, which will be evaluated in the coming days.
Projects Malta said in its statement that it is committed, together with the private sector, to finding the best solution.
