As the Gaulitanus Choir’s production of Verdi’s 3-act opera Rigoletto fast approaches, the choir has advised, those opera patrons crossing over from Malta just for the opera performance, may leave their vehicles in the Cirkewwa terminal parking and use the ferry service that leaves Malta at 6.45pm.
Upon arrival in Mgarr, a coach at the Gozo terminal’s main door will transfer them to the theatre. After the end of the opera the patrons will be similarly transferred to the ferry.
While this service is free of charge for opera patrons, booking by email, telephone is recommended.
Meanwhile, Gozo Channel has advised that the ferry service that normally leaves Gozo at 23.45hrs, will be delayed by 15 minutes to allow patrons travelling back to Malta after the performance to do so in a timely manner.
Rigoletto is the highlight event in the 9th edition of Gaulitana: A Festival of Music. The performance will be dedicated to the late renowned Maltese tenor Paul Asciak, and his widow Bice will also be in attendance. Colin Attard leads the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and the Gaulitanus Choir. Set design and production are entrusted to Enrico Castiglione.
The performance starts at 8pm. A pre-opera talk by Albert G Storace will be given at the Francesco Masini Hall at the Aurora Theatre, at 7pm. Therefore, gates open at 6.45pm.

The opera is being held at Gozo’s Aurora Theatre, this coming Friday, the 22nd of May.
Remaining tickets are priced at €80, €70, €60, €45 and €30 (with an option of €20 rates for students in the lowest-priced area).
