Archbishop Mgr. Charles J. Scicluna, will be officially welcomed in the Diocese of Gozo this evening at the National Sanctuary of Our Lady of Ta ‘Pinu.
On the same occasion the Diocese of Gozo will be commemorating the twenty-fifth anniversary of the visit of Saint John Paul II in Gozo, as part of his apostolic trip to the Maltese Islands in May 1990.
On the 26th of May, Pope John Paul II came to Ta’ Pinu Shrine and after praying in the Chapel he celebrated Mass in the forecourt and decorated the image of Our Lady with five golden stars, as testimony of our people’s love to the blessed Virgin Mary.
This evening – Wednesday, at 5.15pm, the celebration starts at Ta ‘Pinu, when the two Bishops of Malta and Gozo will together inaugurate the three Sacred Art Mosaics newly installed on the facade of the National Shrine.
The celebration continues with Mass led by Archbishop Scicluna, together with Mgr. Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo, and the clergy of the Diocese, it will also be aired live on Radju Marija.
The general public, are invited to attend this historic occasion.
