A substantial amount of jewellery was stolen today from a shop in Palm Street, Victoria. The Police have said that the robbery allegedly took place at about 9.40am, shortly after a number of people entered the establishment and asked to see some jewellery in the shop window.
The shop keeper put aside some jewellery she was handling and attended to the customers, before assisting others who had also walked in.
It was at about 10.30am that the woman then realised that the jewellery she had stored earlier had disappeared.
Duty Magistrate Dr Joanne Vella Cuschieri has launched an inquiry into the incident while investigations are underway by the Victoria Police Station and Criminal Investigation Department.
