Pope Francis announced his decision to set up a "World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation," which was celebrated on the 1st of September.
To mark the occasion Gozo Bishop Mario Grech issued a letter to the children of the Diocese, which has now been published in a free of charge colour booklet aimed at students between the third and sixth year in Gozo primary schools.
In the booklet, 'Caring for our World,' with drawings and design by young artist Cynthia Saliba, the text of the letter written by the Bishop of Gozo has been set out in a language understood by the younger generation.
Mgr Grech encourages children to appreciate the beauty of their surroundings and starting from a young age, to get used to taking measures to help protect the environment.
The Curia said that this initiative was made possible thanks to the financial assistance of Curmi & Partners.
Copies of the publication can be obtained from the Curia of the Diocese of Gozo.
