Rain cuts short racing in 4th round of Gozo Motocross Championship

Gozo Motocross Association organised its 6th calendar event of the 2015/16 season on Sunday. Unfortunately the event had to be cancelled after its first hour of racing due to heavy rains which rendered the condition of the track unsafe for the riders.

The Fourth Round of the Gozo Championship had to be cut short at the first round of racing in classes A, B and C. Members of the committee together with the riders decided it would be very unsafe to use the track at the time. Nevertheless, the winners were awarded a trophy each.Rain cuts short racing in 4th round of Gozo Motocross ChampionshipIn today's competitions, GMA welcomed four ASMK riders to participate alongside the Gozitan riders. Class A featured an exciting Round 1, with Gozitan champion Etienne Bigeni and Malta's Champion Clayton Camilleri, as they battled for first place.

Mario Cauchi's bike broke down, while Joseph Bigeni, Robert Spiteri and Kyle Camilleri were determined to fight it out in the pouring rain. Clayton Camilleri ended up in first place, followed by Etienne and Joseph Bigeni respectively.Rain cuts short racing in 4th round of Gozo Motocross ChampionshipMeanwhile in Class B the newcomer Samuel Spiteri surprised spectators by coming in first, followed by Edward Ciantar and Matthew Mercieca.
