A reminder that tomorrow, Sunday, the 28th of February, the Bishop of Gozo Mgr Mario Grech, will lead a penitential pilgrimage with the statue of the Christ the Redeemer, followed by a Mass with prayers for rain.
The Bishop said that the crops and its fruit will suffer as a result of the current drought. He added that many farmers were seeing their fields parched due to the unusual dry spell, which was causing hardship and sorrow.
"Therefore, I call on all our farmers and all the people of God on our island, to join together and take a penitential pilgrimage tomorrow, starting from the parish church of Qala to the Sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception, also in Qala.
The pilgrimage starts at 4.00pm, and Mass will be celebrated upon arrival at the Sanctuary.
