This Sunday, Ghajnsielem Local Council will be inaugurating the newly embellished Apparition Square, which is better known as the Pjazza tad-Dehra.
The square, situated in the historic area of the village, has benefited from €125,000 in EU grants financed by the European Agriculture Funds for Rural Development (EAFRD) under measure 413.4: Quality of life – Action: Landscaping.
The embellishment works consisted of changing the new fountain base from limestone to hard stone, replacement of the paving area into porfido, installation of lawn, restoration of the street furniture, construction of a reservoir and the addition of two wooden bridges.
The inauguration ceremony gets underway, tomorrow, Sunday, the 29th of May, starting at 6:30pm.
The Parliamentary Secretary for the EU Presidency 2017 and EU Funds Ian Borg, Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo and the Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Stefan Buontempo, will be present for the ceremony.
The Sbandieratori di Noto, the well-known flag throwers group from Sicily will entertain the guests and the general public. There will also be a traditional Maltese food area, as well as Maltese games for children.
This project will complement the 'Ghajn tal-Hasselin' [1] (washers' spring) monument which was inaugurated in February last year.

Not so pretty today. Please clean it up and put some flowers in the beds.
