The traditional Wirja Agrarja – Agricultural Fair, is taking place this coming weekend as part of the celebrations for the feast of of St Peter & St Paul which is celebrated in Nadur.
Organised by the Nadur Local Council, this very popular annual fair will be held at l-Arcipriet Martin Camilleri Square (il-Pjazzetta).
Visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of events which include an exhibition of local farm products, crafts, artisans, antique farming tools, traditional Gozitan food & wine tasting.
Farm animals are also exhibited and pets will be blessed on Sunday morning at 11.00am. by the village Archpriest Mons. Jimmy Xerri.
Traditional folk dancing and singing (ghana) is performed on both days. with the participation of several folk groups, including the Greenfields Folk Group from Malta, the Mnarja Folk Group, Tal-Fuklar Folk Group, Ta' Cangura Folk Group and Benny and Tonia.
The Fair will be held on, Saturday, the 18th of June, (from 8:00 pm onwards) and Sunday, the 19th of June, (from 8:00am. to noon).
