The second edition of Pyrofantasia is taking place next Friday, the 8th of July in Kercem. This will be another spectacular fireworks with music display.
This year, the event will mark the 70th anniversary from the inauguration of a statue of Our Lady of Perpetual Help ( Madonna tas-Sokkors), commissioned in 1946 by the late Carmelo Tabone, who used to live at Ghajn Tuta – Kercem.
The procession of the statue has become a tradition throughout the years and till this day, the statue is carried along by the descendants of the Tabone family through the streets at Ghajn Tuta up to the main village square accompanied by band marches.
For the last two years the statue has been greeted by a traditional aerial fireworks display and the now famous pyromusical, Pyrofantasia, which includes special ground pyrotechnic effects and various aerial fireworks, all synchronised to popular music scores.
This is all organised by the `Ghaqda Festa Ghajn Tuta,' a group of volunteers, who arrange activities throughout the year, as well as the decorations for the annual village feast of Kercem.
The show, with all fireworks by th 12th May Fireworks Factory, Zebbug Malta, gets underway at 9pm next Friday at the Ghajn Tuta area of Kercem.
