Another night of Giochi – it's a knockout was held on Saturday in the main square of Xewkija, as part of the programme for the festival Fiori d'Argenta and the feast of the Martrydom of St John the Baptist. 
The evening events included giochi for the adults, fun games for children, entertainment, a guest appearance by the Former European Champion of Bresilian Jujitsu,François Deniau of Lyon – France – and also a show of glamour with the presence of Miss Malta contestants from Gozo, with Miss Xaghra, Miss Xewkija, Miss Victoria and Miss Qala.
The participating teams were composed from different entities of Xewkija with youths, footballers, alter boys and seniors taking part in the games, who all had the backing of their supporters and a large crowd to cheer the teams on.
The organisers said that it was a great atmosphere thanks to the Xewkija Local Council especially the Mayor Mr Paul Azzopardi and the parish priest Fr Daniel Xerri for making all this possible.
The winning team in this event was tal-Armar with 20 pts, followed by KZX (Kumitat Zghazagh Xewkija) 17 pts and Black Falcons 11 pts.
The winning team was presented with a trophy by the Mayor together with medals to all participants. The winning team is to represent Xewkija in the finals at Marsalforn.
The next events will be in Ghajnsielem on Thursday, the 1st of September, followed by the final in Marsalforn on Sunday, the 11th of September.
