Parliamentary Secretary for the EU Presidency 2017 and EU Funds Ian Borg announced Call IV – under Priority Axis 4: “Shifting towards a low-carbon economy” – aimed at enhancing our environment by investing in cleaner air. “This aims to promote the production and the distribution of energy derived from renewable sources.”
Another investment aim under Priority Axis 5 – ‘Protecting our environment: investing in natural and cultural assets’ supports the conservation, protection, promotion and development of natural and cultural heritage of the Maltese Islands, was also launched today.
Parliamentary Secretary Ian Borg explained that this call targets Local Councils and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in Gozo and Malta and reminded that the deadline for submission of project proposals is Friday, the 7th of April 2017.
He concluded by stating that the Government is committed at securing more funds towards safeguarding our natural surroundings and subsequently encouraged local councils and NGOs to step forward and make good use of the available EU Funds.
